GENEVIEVE NNAJI AS CHINORA ONU
GENE
as she is fondly called by her numerous fans across the globe
has proven to be one of the most versatile young
actresses in Africa today. The daughter of a retired Engineer
and a teacher, Nnaji was born May 3, 1979 in Imo State. Her
parents moved the family to Lagos, Nigeria when she was a
few months old, and she has lived in Lagos ever since.
Following
her high school career, Nnaji began auditioning for acting
jobs around Lagos. In 1998, she landed a role
as an extra in Ralph Nwadike’s “Most Wanted”.
Since then, she has not looked back and her rise in the
Nigeria film industry has been meteoric. She has won
several acting
accolades including the 2005 African Movie Academy Award
(AMAA) for Best Actress. Genevieve has starred in over
60 movies including Keeping Faith, Two Together, Rising
Sun,
and Blood Sisters to name a few.
In 2004, the ever popular
actress unveiled her first music album entitled No More.
In
30 Days she plays the lead role of Chinora Onu who becomes
entangled in a political mystery while trying to accomplish
a personal task.
